Glasgow Trip: Day 1

For Christmas I bought my partner tickets to see his favourite singer/songwriter so we planned a weekend trip away to Glasgow. We got cheap bus tickets from Megabus and booked to stay in The Premier Inn in the Glasgow City Centre Buchanan Galleries as my partner gets discount.

The bus journey took a good few hours as there was an accident on the road on the way there, but we still made it in good time to meet a friend we'd organised to meet. Other than the road accident the journey was smooth and I pretty much slept the entire journey.

We got in to Glasgow, checked in to the hotel and got told we'd been booked in to a spacious room with a great view and boy were they right. Our room had a huge double bed, a sofa bed and a desk and we could see great views of Glasgow as we were on the 14th floor. I couldn't resist but snap a few photos (I guess that's the blogger in me).

Once we were checked in we went out to Las Iguanas to meet a friend. We're a fan of Las Iguanas because there is something for everyone and as a vegetarian there are a good few options for me. It always amazes me just how fast the food comes out in that place. I will write another post about the food I ate when I was there as a vegetarian guide to Glasgow.

After that we went back to the hotel to relax before our evening meal. I wasn't feeling 100% so I had a nap to see if it would help me feel better. We had a busy next day planned so a relaxing day was exactly what we needed. For our evening meal we went to a restaurant called Panevino which was AMAZING. The food was fantastic, the staff were charming and the prices were reasonable. Once again, I'll post about the food on another post but MY GOD was it amazing.

After that we just went for a couple of drinks and back to the hotel. It was a great little relaxing day on our weekend break and we definitely needed it after weeks of working hard at our jobs and recovering from Christmas.
